Whether your child is belting it out in the kitchen or quietly humming along to their favourite songs, there's a group for them here. Songbirds is for younger beginners (Grades K–4) and Sing Squad is for older kids ready for more (Grades 5–10). Both meet weekly during the school term in Pemberton, with free trial days each session so you can try before you commit.

Songbirds

Songbirds is where little voices find their confidence. In a small, warm group at the Pemberton & District Museum, young singers explore pitch, rhythm, breath, and expression through music games, group songs, and solo study — all at their own pace.

There's no pressure to perform. There's no "getting it wrong." There's just singing, together.

For beginner singers in Grades K–4

What they'll build:

  • A healthy singing voice and good vocal habits from the start

  • Pitch accuracy and rhythm through ear training and games

  • Confidence to sing solo and in a group

  • A genuine love for music that lasts well beyond the class

Sing Squad

Sing Squad is the natural next step — for singers who've grown through Songbirds, or older kids who are ready to dig deeper into their voice. This group tackles harmony, performance skills, and more advanced technique in a collaborative, encouraging space.

The vibe is serious enough to grow, relaxed enough to have fun.

What they'll build:

  • Stronger pitch accuracy and timing through focused ear training

  • Harmony and the ability to hold a part in a group

  • Solo confidence and performance skills built gradually, never forced

  • The foundation for a lifelong singing practice

For intermediate singers in Grades 5–10

Led by Keita Selina

Hi, I'm Keita. A singer, artist, and teacher with over two decades in the arts. I started the singing groups in Pemberton because I wanted a place where kids could explore their voices without pressure, comparison, or fear of getting it wrong.

Every session includes vocal warm-ups, music games, group song practice, and individual song study. It's structured enough to build real skills, and relaxed enough that kids genuinely look forward to it each week.

Performance Philosophy

Building true confidence in performing takes time. If the group decides to showcase their talents, you, or your child may or may not feel ready for a solo, and that's perfectly okay. We support each student's individual growth at their own pace.

What Parents Say…

“She is so knowledgeable and easy going and my daughter absolutely loves her”

-Kaitlyn T.

“Kind, warm, and a lovely human being. She made our daughter feel so confident that she couldn’t help but shine! :)”

-Imogen C.

Our sessions offer more than just vocal lessons; they provide a nurturing environment where your child can build confidence, express creativity, and form lasting friendships.

Adult Singing Circle

The Adult Singing Circle wrapped up a successful pilot earlier this year, and it was everything we hoped it would be: warm, a little chaotic, surprisingly moving, and a lot of fun.

We're planning the next round for later in 2025. Details — including dates, location, and how to register — will be posted on the booking page as soon as they're confirmed.

If you'd like to be first to know, join the mailing list below or keep an eye on the booking page.
